Back up your data

Oops. A family historian has lost 30 years worth of research because he stored everything in emails and didn’t back anything up.

This story isn’t a warning tale about xtra’s webmail service, though it’s rather baffling to work out why anyone would pay a monthly fee for webmail. It’s a warning about not backing up.

As someone said to me once, the answer to the question “How often should I back up my data?” is another question — “How much would you cry if you lost everything since you last backed up?”
