Malcolm was the brother of Neil (12/939) and of William Stanley Matheson (number not known). They were the children of Angus Matheson, who had immigrated from Scotland, and his wife Alice May Cork.
There is no personnel file online for Malcolm. All we know is from the family history summarised under the web page for Neil and these articles from Dunedin newspapers. Neil died in France, according to some online family trees on 24 August 1917. It’s not been possible to find his grave in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database, nor is that death found in New Zealand death records.
