The New Zealand branch of the Clan Matheson Society is for anyone interested in Matheson heritage.  We’re meeting on Sunday 8 August 2021 in Auckland, to discuss some exciting ideas about making our information and activities available to all.

Come along to meet others interested in Matheson heritage, and hear how we’re planning to adapt for the future.  Auckland Botanic Gardens, Hill Road, Manurewa, in the Logan Campbell Room from 1:30 pm.

Want to do more to generate interest in Matheson heritage?  Keen to strengthen the profile of Scottish culture and customs in New Zealand?  If you have a good idea about how to do that, we’d like to hear from you.

Applications are now open for the 2021/22 Clan Matheson Grant.  Check here for more information.

We are the New Zealand branch of the international Clan Matheson Society.  We have established a small grant scheme to help people implement worthwhile projects that align well with those aims.

If you think you have an appropriate activity that we might fund, check out the grant scheme here.  Your proposal might be traditional, to do with pipe bands or Highland games.  It might be innovative, like establishing virtual connections between New Zealand and Scottish places and people, or experimenting with haggis recipes using New Zealand ingredients.  It might benefit an individual, or a community.  Go on, surprise us!

Applications close on 30 November 2020.

The new committee for the New Zealand branch of the Clan Matheson Society was elected at the midwinter annual meeting in 2019 and will serve until next year’s annual meeting.  Details of the team are here.  Follow this site for news of our eight priorities for the year.
