Committee

A small committee of active volunteers manages the organisation and plans activities that contribute to its aims.  They are expected to:

  • contribute ideas and energy to the organisation
  • participate in four committee meetings per year
  • participate in two planning meetings per year to review and set strategic direction, along with the trustees
  • use appropriate opportunities to encourage people to support and contribute to the branch
  • support the chair in fostering and developing work to support and promote the purpose and objectives of Clan Matheson New Zealand.

The committee operates under the delegated authority of the trustees to ensure that the organisation’s activities align with its purpose.  It has offices of chair, secretary and treasurer, and manages its own succession.  There is more about these roles here

Committee members each bring different skills and experience to their role, which adds strength to the organisation.  They must be committed to achieving the aims of the organisation, and willing to actively carry out the duties listed in the previous section.  If you think you could contribute to the committee, please get in touch: chair@clanmatheson.org.nz
